Internship Assignment
The Intern will provide operational and administrative support to the Accreditation and Entity Relations Unit (AERU) in the Division of Country Programming (DCP). S/he will have the opportunity to learn and expand her/his experiences by providing assistance in the accreditation and reaccreditation processes, and Accredited Entity partner relations.
Under the overall guidance from the Head of Accreditation and Entity Relations Unit within DCP, the Intern is expected to:
a) Accreditation and reaccreditation: provide support in reviewing accreditation account requests, preparing documents in support of the assessment of applicants, and managing information and databases on the accreditation pipeline; and
b) Accredited Entity relations: provide support for high-level engagement with AEs, support to reach legal agreements with AEs to formalize the partnership, maintain data related to entity work programming, provide support to the processes for AEs in addressing capacity gaps through accreditation conditions, re-accreditation, and preparation of Board and reporting documentation.
Requirements and qualifications*
a) Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master’s program in public policy, sustainable development, climate change, or related fields;
b) Knowledge and experience with working with developing country governments is an advantage
c) Good understanding and experience in operations of international organizations is an added advantage;
d) Proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access;
e) Excellent writing and presentation skills;
f) Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language, in particular French and Spanish, and/or Portuguese is an advantage.

The internship period could be extended up to 12 months upon performance evaluation.
