Internship Assignment

The intern will learn the overall activities of the Division of Portfolio Management (DPM) including ways to manage Funded Projects data and evaluate portfolio performance. The intern will provide support to the portfolio performance management functions of the DPM including operational and administrative support for the PIMM workstream. S/he will have the opportunity to learn and expand her/his experiences by providing support to the improvement of portfolio performance tracking and management. Specifically, under the overall guidance of the designated supervisor, the intern is expected to support the PIMM workstream to ensure efficient and effective implementation of the approved Funded Activities Portfolio in the following ways:

o   Verify and validate portfolio data and reporting requirements for  the funded activities by cross-checking legal documents such as Funding Proposals, Board Decisions, and Funded Activity Agreements (FAAs). 

o    Take inventory of terms and conditions of FAAs for projects under implementation and monitor indicative timelines.

o    Updating project briefs for funded activities. 

o  Support portfolio management processes such as generating disbursement projections and facilitating disbursement requests from AEs in coordination with other divisions.

o    Support the review of reports submitted by AEs to ensure they meet the Fund’s reporting standards.

o    Assist in drafting disbursement and extension memos and other portfolio management-related documents.

o    Assist the portfolio implementation and management team to research emerging issues.

o    Provide general administrative support in collaboration with the Team Assistant when required.

 

 

Requirements and qualifications*

a)     Enrolled or recently graduated in Masters’ program in Economics, Management, Climate Policy, Environmental Science, Information Science, Development Studies, or related fields;

b)       Knowledge and experience with portfolio monitoring, information management, data analysis, and dashboard;

c)       Good understanding and experience in operations of international organization is an added advantage;

d)       Proficiency in using standard software programs: Tableau, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, and any other data management tools;

e)       Excellent writing and presentation skills;

f)     Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language, in particular French and Spanish, and/or Portuguese is an advantage.
