Internship Assignment
The Intern will provide operational and administrative support to the Independent Integrity Unit (IIU) of the Green Climate Fund. S/he will have the opportunity to learn and expand her/his experiences by providing assistance in the IIU’s capacity building of GCF Accredited Entities, strategic partnerships, and outreach and awareness raising activities on integrity standards.
Under the overall guidance of the Deputy Head of IIU, the Intern is expected to:
a) Provide support in the planning and coordination of capacity building activities, and in the development of e-learning tools, modules, trainings, webinars, and related materials;
b) Provide support in the development of knowledge materials and knowledge sharing;
c) Provide support in the planning and coordination of stakeholders’ outreach and strategic engagement activities;
d) Provide administrative support in the negotiations of Memoranda of Understanding with counterpart integrity offices of Accredited Entities and in the management of the Entity Contact Database;
e) Provide general administrative support to the prevention function of the IIU; and
f) Perform additional tasks as may be required by the Head of IIU, Deputy Head of IIU, or designated IIU staff.
Requirements and Qualifications*
a) Enrolled in a Master’s program in international relations, legal studies, social studies, or related fields;
b) Knowledge and experience with international development and environment-related events or projects;
c) Good understanding and experience in the operations of international organisations is an added advantage;
d) Proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access;
e) Excellent writing and presentation skills;
f) Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language in particular French, Spanish, and/or Portuguese is an advantage.
* Applicants currently located in the duty station (South Korea) are only eligible to apply. Nevertheless, GCF still aims to attract candidates from diverse backgrounds and nationalities. The internship period could be extended up to 12 months upon performance evaluation.
