Internship Assignment
The Intern will provide operational and administrative support to the Private Sector Facility – Financial Institutions team. S/he will have the opportunity to learn and expand her/his experiences by providing assistance in the appraisal of private sector focused climate investments and grant proposals for GCF through Funding Proposals, Concept Notes and Readiness Proposals.
Under the overall guidance from the Financial Institutions Manager within the Private Sector Facility – Financial Institutions team, the Intern is expected to:
a) Assess Concept Notes submitted by GCF’s Accredited Entities for climate impact and financial structuring.
b) Review Funding Proposals for climate investments in developing countries submitted by GCF’s Accredited Entities, write assessments and coordinate the internal review process.
c) Assess Readiness proposals that provide technical assistance to public and private sector actors.
Requirements and qualifications*
a) Enrolled in Master’s program in business, finance, climate change, sustainability or related fields;
b) Knowledge and experience with investments, financial institutions and/or climate change issues.
c) Good understanding and experience in operations of an international organization is an added advantage;
d) Proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access;
e) Excellent writing and presentation skills;
f) Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language, in particular French and Spanish, and/or Portuguese is an advantage.
* Applicants currently located in the duty station (South Korea) are only eligible to apply. Nevertheless, GCF still aims to attract candidates from diverse backgrounds and nationalities. The internship period could be extended up to 12 months upon performance evaluation.
