Internship Assignment

The Intern will provide operational and administrative support to the Private Sector Facility – Innovation, Technology and Co-Funding team. S/he will have the opportunity to learn and expand her/his experiences by providing assistance in the appraisal of private sector focused climate investments proposals for GCF through Concept Notes and Funding Proposals.

 

            Under the overall guidance of the Climate Finance Specialist within the Private Sector Facility – Innovation, Technology and Co-Funding team, the Intern is expected to:

 

a)         Review Concept Notes and Funding Proposals submitted by GCF’s Accredited Entities for climate impact and financial structuring;

b)         Conduct market and project ideas screenings,

c)         Support coordination of the internally review and negotiation process (meetings, reviews, drafting, negotiations and others).

 

Requirements and qualifications*

 

a)         Enrolled in or recently graduated Master’s program in business, finance, climate change, sustainability or related fields;

b)         Good understanding, experience or strong interest in climate mitigation and adaptation;

c)         Good understanding or experience with private investments, project financing and/or technology company financing.

d)         Good understanding and experience in operations of international companies and organization is an added advantage;

e)         Proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access;

f)          Capacity to quickly adapt to a new working environment;

g)         Capacity to work on several workstreams in parallel;

h)         Excellent writing and presentation skills;

i)       Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language, in particular French and Spanish, and/or Portuguese is an advantage.

 

* Applicants currently located in the duty station (South Korea) are only eligible to apply. Nevertheless, GCF still aims to attract candidates from diverse backgrounds and nationalities.
