The mission of the Green Climate Fund is to assist developing countries to respond to climate change while bringing prosperity to their peoples.


Established in 2010, the GCF invests in transformational climate projects in the developing world. The Fund makes an ambitious contribution to global climate action and channels significant financial resources into developing countries to help build low-emission and climate-resilient societies.  It is country-driven and undertakes actions which reflect the circumstances of each country concerned and its national aspirations. The GCF is a key enabler of the 2015 Paris Agreement on Climate Change.


Since its establishment, the GCF has approved 102 projects and has committed USD 5.0 billion in climate finance. In addition, it has built up an extensive program to support developing countries identify their needs, in particular those who are most vulnerable to climate change impacts.

Internship Assignment

The Intern will support the activities of the Enterprise ICT Programme Management Office in the Information and Communications Technology Unit (ICT). S/he will have the opportunity to learn and expand her/his experiences by assisting with project management and product line strategy, design, development, and enhancement delivery and support the Enterprise ICT Programme Management Office with the ICT strategy and development of GCF’s ICT policies, guidance, and standards.

Under the supervision of the Manager, Enterprise ICT Programme Management Office, the Intern is expected to:


  1. Provide support to product line operations and continuous improvement efforts to support business outcomes and to define, track, and communicate product line specific KPIs to improve the product line’s adaptation and performance;
  2. Coordinate with business, data, and ICT teams to align product lines and consult with product line consumers to assess and anticipate current and future product line requirements;
  3. Provide project support for multiple ICT projects such as project initiation documentation, meeting minutes, risk and issue logs, KPIs, and status reports; Recommend business process changes for better product line adoption, identify business and technology trends that can improve the product line’s business outcomes, and apply design thinking and data science to ensure customer-centric experiences;



Requirements and qualifications

  1. Enrolled in Master’s program in information systems, information technology, business administration, international relations, or related fields;
  2. Knowledge and experience with business strategy, governance, product development, and design thinking;
  3. Good understanding and experience in operations of the intentional organisations is an added advantage;
  4. Proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
  5. Excellent writing and presentation skills;
  6. Excellent oral and written command of English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language is an advantage
