Introduction
The Green Climate Fund is the world’s largest dedicated multilateral climate fund and invests in impactful, innovative, catalytic programs and projects in developing countries across the globe. The GCF has a portfolio of 286 projects across 133 countries, with a total commitment of USD 15.9 billion to date.
In 2023, an additional USD 12.8 billion was pledged, to support our new strategic and programming cycle from 2024-2027; our ambition is to grow to become at least a USD 50 billion fund by 2030. Internship Assignment
The Department of People and Culture plays a vital role in fostering a positive workplace environment and aligning organizational goals with employee well-being. It focuses on creating an inclusive, engaging, and productive culture while ensuring employees are supported, motivated, and empowered to thrive professionally and personally.
As an intern in the Department of People and Culture, you will provide essential support to the Global Head of the Center of Expertise (CoE) and collaborate with teams across critical functions, such as Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, and Total Rewards. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in diverse areas of people management while contributing to meaningful projects that directly impact employees and the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the HR Center of Expertise team, the intern will:
- Assist in coordinating cross-functional initiatives and strategic projects.
- Help in research and data analysis to inform decision-making and best practices.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and documentation for leadership meetings.
- Monitor project timelines and deliverables to ensure smooth execution of key initiatives.
- Support staff orientation and other internal events and activities.
- Help organize training programs, workshops, and development sessions for employees.
- Provide logistical support, such as setting up venues, materials, and participant communications.
- Perform other tasks as required.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Enrolled in the Master’s or PhD program (or recently graduated) in Human Resources, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Familiarity with HR systems, data analysis, and reporting tools.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
